Personality:
Rumi is, to say the very least, a very cheerful and tomboyish girl. She is the type of person to always tackle a challenge head-on, but, unlike a certain orange-jumpsuit-wearing ninja we all know and love, she is able to control her urges and knows when to back down and/or keep her mouth shut...usually. She does have one major weakness, however. She is an open and very proud lesbian, and will hit on pretty much any cute girl she happens to meet, regardless of the consequences. This is the only instance in which she'll display a lack of common sense. If a girl seems disturbed by her advances, however, she'll usually tone it down to some occasional light flirting. When she wants to, she can act like a perfect "gentleman". At the same time, however, Rumi mostly acts in such a perverted/flirty manner because she knows she will probably be rejected...or, in a few cases, will jokingly play along. Should, on the off chance, a girl actually return her affection, she would suddenly become shy and awkward, as it would completely catch her off guard. This has never happened though.
Over all, she is friendly to those who are nice to her, though she is equally prone to being incredibly spiteful toward those who upset her in any way, and tends to make a huge deal out of minor issues. She is easily forgiving, however, and it's rare that she holds a grudge for more than a day. Also, despite her perverted habits, she is extremely loyal to her village and clan, and would gladly risk her life for both. This is especially true for her family. Insulting and/or attempting to harm any of them is a very easy way to piss Rumi off, and she is not someone you want to be around when she's pissed off. And finally, something one will notice is that she avoids any sort of open flame, no matter how harmless and under control it is, like the plague. This is due to her pyrophobia, as detailed below.
Likes:

Dislikes:
- Open-flame candles
- Fire Jutsus
- Hot/dry weather
- Cooked vegetables (they're fine if they're raw)
- Anything bitter-tasting
- Insects[/i]

Fears:
- Failing to amount to anything
- Flames...seems ironic, since she lives in the Land of Fire
Strengths:
- Excels at fighting from a distance and using her techniques to slow enemies down
- Has excellent chakra control
- Unwavering loyalty to the Hidden Leaf Village
- Fairly good speed and stamina despite her petite frame
Weaknesses:
- Physically, she's not very powerful, and her skill with her sword is mediocre at best
- While her mud techniques are excellent for wearing/slowing down opponents, she is severely lacking in jutsus that deal any lasting damage. The only potentially fatal attack she has (aside from simply stabbing someone) is her Mountain Splitter, and it is extremely unreliable. If she were ever forced into a one-on-one fight to the death, she would at an almost crippling disadvantage
- Additionally, her fear of fire puts her at a tremendous disadvantage against opponents who use Fire Jutsu of any type. Even the weakest of flames will send her into a hysterical panic, which invariably ends with her running off to hug her knees in a corner some time. And this is if she simply sees someone use one. If she were actually attacked with one, it would take hours for someone to get her to come out of hiding.
- Being a perverted lesbian, certain habits tend to make things difficult if she ever faces a female opponent
- Her skill with Genjutsu is fairly lacking as well
Village:
Konohagakure

Chuunin
HOW'D YOU GET THERE
Past:
Rumi was born in Konohagakure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, as a member of the Deido Clan. She was the second born of three, her brother being older than her by two years, while her sister was born when she was three years old. For the most part, she lived happily, always playing with her brother and sister, looking up to her brother while being protective of her sister. Her father was one of the most skilled ninjas in the clan, and was highly thought of among other Deido clan members, though some were jealous of his popularity. When Rumi was six years old, some jealous ex-friends made an attempt on the life of her father and the rest of his family, first setting their home on fire, then attacking her father as he escaped outside. The attack ended in failure, with those involved being killed by those who came to their defense, but not without some tragic results. Her father survived the sneak-attack, but was crippled, his left leg and right ankle all but destroyed. Currently there is little hope of them fully recovering, thus his days as a ninja were effectively ended. Rumi herself was greatly affected, having been trapped in the house when it was set ablaze. She was eventually rescued before anything serious happened, thus escaping with a few minor burns at worst, but the event left an emotional scar resulting in Pyrophobia, a fear of flames. After the attack and despite all that had happened, Rumi's resolve was strengthened. She, along with her sigblings, would all become great shinobi, in hopes of restoring their father's honor. Over the years, she trained diligently, making her way through the academy and becoming a member of a three-man team. Eventually, they completed enough missions to compete in the Chuunin exams, each of them passing with flying colors. Now, Rumi has been a Chuunin for a little over two years, and she eagerly awaits rising in rank to Jounin and becoming the sensei of her own team.
Family:
Kyosuke Deido - Father; crippled
Mizuno Deido - Mother
Yamato Deido - Older brother
Aika Deido - Younger sister
HOW DO YOU DO IN A FIGHT
Weapons:
Her main weapon of choice is the ninjato, which she keeps several of in her home. She'll also use shuriken and/or kunai when needed
Kekkei Genkai:
Her clan, they Deido Clan, do have a Kekkei Genkai, though it doesn't even come close to being as powerful as those of the more famous clans like Hyuga or Uhiha, and doesn't even have a name. All it does is lower the the amount of chakra needed to perform jutsus involving mud, and, unlike the Byakugan or Sharingan, doesn't need to be activated. It automatically takes effect when the user performs a mud-related Jutsu. Additionally, all Deido Clan members, as a side effect of the Kekkei Genkei, are guaranteed to have Earth and Water Chakra Natures
Abilities:
Rumi, like most members of the Deido clan, specialize in jutsu involving the use of mud. Because of her Kekkei Genkai, she can perform mud-related jutsus with little effort, which is further enhanced by her skill with Chakra control. Additionally, she, like all other members, are partnered with an animal. This custom is similar to that of the Inuzuka clan, only instead of dogs, they are usually animals associated with the element of Earth, just as moles or pigs. Additionally, instead of traveling with their partners side by side, they are instead called using a slight variation of the Summoning Jutsu. Rather than making a contract with a family of one specific animal, the contract is exclusively with their own partner. Rumi's partner is a large boar named Okkoto.
Favorite Jutsus:
Earth Style - Mud Cannon Jutsu
Forms a large ball of mud and blasts them toward the opponent as though it was shot out of a cannon. By expending extra chakra when using performing this jutsu, one can form up to three extra balls, though all of them will only be half the size of what they would normally be. Similar to the Fireball Jutsu for the Uchiha clan, it is when a Deido Clan member masters this technique that they are acknowledged as both an adult and a full-fledged ninja.
Water Style - Aqua Lung Jutsu
The user takes a deep breath, spitting out a small stream of water as she exhales. Not very useful for attacking, but can be used to create mud from dirt in emergencies, as well as make certain surfaces slippery or otherwise hard to walk on.
Earth Style - Mud Clone Jutsu
Creates up three clones of the user using mud.
Earth Style - Terraform Jutsu
The user expels a large amount of Earth and Water Chakra from their feet into the ground, thus turning a small area around the user into a mud pit that is about two feet deep. This gives them a rather nice amount of mud to utilize in their jutsus, but can very quickly drain them of their energy if used too often in in short period of time. After about half an hour or so, the area will revert to what it originally was, regardless of how much of the mud was used up.
Earth Style - Mud Machine Gun Jutsu
Creates around a hundred marble-shaped 'bullets' made of mud and launches them toward the target in a machine gun-like manner. The so-called bullets don't actually pierce anything, but are still incredibly painful.
Earth Style - Mud Blast Jutsu
Can only be used after the Terraform Jutsu or in an area that already has a lot of mud. Creates a huge mass of mud, about the size of a boulder, and hurls it at an opponent.
Earth Style - Mud Wall Jutsu
Erects a wall of hardened mud to act as a makeshift barrier. Easily deflects projectiles and most elemental jutsus, but will crumble after one or two powerful strikes with a punch or a kick.
Summon Partner: Okkoto
Rumi summons her partner, Okkoto. Okkoto is a large boar, big enough for her to ride on his back. He is capable of speech, however, he is unable to perform jutsus of his own and he's not very intelligent. Though very powerful, due to his large tusks, his attacks are limited to charging and trampling his opponents. Rumi often uses him for fast travel, though he's about as subtle as a hand grenade, so she generally saves it for when speed is more important than stealth.
Earth Style Taijutsu - Mountain Splitter
This technique consists of Rumi channeling a large amount of Earth Chakra into her ninjato, and performing a powerful slashing attack. Using it requires a minute or two to channel the chakra, thus leaving her open, and doing to puts tremendous stress on the blade itself, almost guaranteeing it will shatter once the attack it executed...whether it actually hits something or not. And even then, the vast amount of chakra needed to use the attack tends to leave Rumi winded, if not completely drained of energy. Thus, despite it being extremely powerful, it's fairly abysmal in terms of usability in battle, and is thus reserved for emergencies. Oh...and it isn't actually capable of splitting a mountain...it's extremely powerful, but not that powerful. "Mountain Splitter" is simply a (somewhat overdramatic) name she came up with to make it sound cool.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
