"You better not slow me down. Karatsu said.
Amaya raised her eyebrow at him, her lips firmly set and her teeth clenched. She caught up to him easily enough since he was only a step or so in front.
She looked at him through the cornor of her purple eyes. The change in his personality bothered her, but she figured that if she brought it up, it would only make things worse.
So instead, she made a loud sigh and put her Akatsuki hat on.
She really hated the hat.
After she placed it on her head, she turned to make sure that Reap was right behind them.

"I won't stop and wait if you two fall behind." Karatsu was determined to see that the mission was completed. Of course he would take the chance to destroy his brother, but if there wasn't, he could live with just taking his best friend. He would hope the entire journey that he would encounter his brat of a brother. Who did he think he was? Telling Karatsu he's wrong, speaking in place of their sister, and even having the gall to ask if Okuni would approve of his life choices? Why wouldn't she? She was the one who sided with Karatsu. Not his brother. There was no forgiving that brat.

Amaya once more looked at her partner through the corner of her eye.
"We're keeping up with you okay. Karatsu, I get that things are like seriously heavy with you right now.. but don't take it out on us okay? We've got quite a journey ahead of us and if we start getting at each other's throats then it'll be even longer." She said quietly.
She hoped that this didn't set him off, she really wasn't enjoying this side of him. She knew that he was going through something, she could tell by his voice that something serious was bugging him, but if he didn't share it, she couldn't help. She knew that now was certainly not the time to offer to lend an ear either, even if Karatsu would accept it.. which she doubted he would.

Karatsu kept walking. He didn't respond. He just looked back without turning his head. He didn't want to hear Amaya's endless understanding and wisdom right now. He wasn't happy or in the mood to play. He wasn't thinking how Amaya could help. He was only thinking as to how she would ever understand why he was upset about his brother. No one ever knew why he got upset at Kekeya's mention, or why he vowed to kill his only blood tie to the world, or why he never talked about his past. How could someone like Amaya understand? He just wasn't aware of how much she wanted to help.

Amaya didn't say anything else. She kept her eyes on the path in front of them. Seeing Karatsu lost in thought, more than likely regarding his past, caused her own past to sweep to the front of her mind.
She forcefully pushed it all back, there was no way that she was going to think about things like that. Now was not the time for her to get lost in the shadows of the past.
Instead she let herself fall back a few steps to keep pace with Reap. She kept her eyes on Karatsu though, deciding that he probably needed some time to himself without her bugging him.

Karatsu was indeed lost in thought. Not about his past, but about the future. The near future, he hoped. He could see all the gore flash before his eyes. Anyone could feel the murderous intent just by being near him. It could make someone sick to their stomach. He seemed too lost to notice anything else. There was a cliff approaching. Karatsu seemed like he could just walk right over the edge.

Reap continued to follow just a pace behind the two keeping his mind open and on art, while ignoring the heavy atmosphere that surrounded them all, he would continue to relax and wander his mind going over the various things he could draw, letting out a small sigh he would wipe some of the falling blood from his eyes and lick at it. Yawning he would drop his hand to his side, keeping his ears open and navigating just by the sound of Amaya and Karatsu breathing ahead.

Karatsu seemed to not hear her. He walked right to the edge and stepped off. That's when a large slab of stone jutted out from the cliff side and held him up. Karatsu wasn't as distant as he seemed, even as deep in thought as he was. He walked along the edge of the stone slab as it continued to extend to the other side. "Hurry up." He was obviously not going to talk much.

Reap hesitated for a second and stepped out onto the rock bridge slightly unsure an ink black cane would slide from his hand and begin to tap along as he followed behind Amaya, and Karatsu.

Amaya fought back a groan of annoyance and followed Karatsu silently on the rock bridge, keeping an eye behind her on Reap to make sure he made it across okay. She couldn't wait until the travelling part was done, atleast then they'd have the mission to concentrate on rather than her thinking about Karatsu and his moodiness.
"I hope it doesn't take long to get to Konoha from here," Amaya said outloud. It wasn't the fact that she felt the need to cover the silence, but she thought it may help Reap atleast. Just because things were off between her and her partner didn't mean that Reap should suffer as well.

Karatsu stopped on the other side of the canyon. "This is taking way too long." Karatsu was not going to wait forever. He raised a platform out of the ground. He stepped on it, then turned back and held out his hand to help Amaya and Reap on. They allowed him to. He faced in the direction of Konoha, and signaled another hand motion. The platform rose slightly farther up. "Hold on tight." He made several, lightening-fast, hand signs. "Suiton: Mizu Funsha!" A large jet of water came out of the rear of the slab of stone. It began to speed across the land at a speed fatser than you would expect from just a jet of water.

--------------- New RP ------------------
Amaya, Karatsu, and Chieko were now walking on the road out of the village. Karatsu kept throwing around the nickname "Newbie" toward Chieko, and other snide remarks. Amaya frowned slightly, and studied Chieko with her purple eyes.
"You'll have to overlook Karatsu sometimes, he really is a great guy when you get past his somewhat lack of people skills." Amaya said. She bumped shoulders with Karatsu gently to show that she wasn't completely serious. She didn't mind Karatsu's rough outter shell, however, those who didn't know him the way she did.. well they may mind it.

Chieko gave a weak smile at Amaya's efforts to make her feel better. She waved her hand, "It's fine. Hika--" the redhead stopped suddenly, then continued with a small frown. "My old friend used to tease me all the time..." Her voice trailed off, and though she had stated a complete thought, it seemed as if she was leaving something out. Chieko walked a bit faster, making her strides slightly longer and pushed her hair back with her hand. She wasn't really paying attention to Karatsu's comments as her mind was somewhere else. The girl knew they weren't going to be near Suna but just thinking about being in the Wind Country made her uneasy.
