Shinigan- Using the trait is extremely taxing, and people who do have the trait are often unable to effectively use it without several years (usually a decade) of training, although the ability may spontaneously activate in the presence of mind altering stimuli, large concentrations of energy, similar abilities, or life threatening situations. Unlike the Sharingan, however, activating it once, even several times, may not allow the user to activate it at will from that point on- for those unable to use it at will after first use, even several years of conventional training often results in being only being able to activate it at will, although this still grants enhanced vision, movement and perception speed as well as chakra reliant abilities such as greatly enhanced chakra control and the ability to see chakra itself, a common trait to all doujutsu. Learning the more advanced abilities requires complete mastery of the trait, which is obtainable through either of 2 methods. The first and safest method is another few years (between 2 to 5) of combat experience with the Shinigan; however, this method is slow, does not eliminate all of the strain from using the Shinigan (strain from using the Shinigan in this state is comparable with the Sharingan combined with someone who isn’t an Uchiha), and the time required to complete the training varies between individuals by as much as 2 years. The second method is far more dangerous, and can result in either death, permanent loss of the trait, blindness, or a severely weakened chakra network. This method involves continuously using the shinigan over the course of several months to possibly a year, and although extremely risky, it gives the user an unparalleled mastery of the trait. Users who undergo the second training method are also able to use the shinigan with virtually none of the strain that first came with the trait, allowing for the user to use the trait for indefinite periods of time. Once the most advanced stage is reached, however, abilities begin to differ based on several factors such as family lineage, the training involved in reaching said stage, and even the user’s personality, in much the same way as the Mangyeko Sharingan differs from person to person. The color of even the basic forms can vary from person to person, and mutant versions of the trait have been observed on more than one occasion.
There are 3 different stages to the shinigan. The initial version, stage 1, illuminates the entire eye and only grants a basic resistance to genjutsu, but uses an incredible amount of chakra, enough to hospitalize the user if used for more than a few minutes. Stage 1 increases the speed and perception time of the user as well as increasing chakra control and quality as well as fortifying the user's body with chakra, which in turn makes the user less susceptable to injury (mostly blunt trauma), increases recovery rate and makes the user all but immune to shock. Stage 2 only illuminates the pupil as well as changing it into the distinctive slit. This stage is obtained through several years of training, and once reached the shinigan grants complete immunity to mind altering stimuli, allows basic genjutsu, and can paralyze opponents as long as eye contact is maintained. Individual abilities may also begin manifesting at this stage. Stage 3 is not controllable, only appearing when the user is experiencing unusually strong emotions (grief, rage, etc). This stage is only temporary (usually lasting no more than an hour), but further enhances the stage 2 effects as well as increasing chakra control to the point where jutsu that the user is familiar with no longer require hand signs. The amount of chakra being generated and used to reinforce the user's body reaches the point where it actually begins to leak out, forming a haze of chakra similar to that of one of Orochimaru's Curse Marks. The shinigan changes from its normal blue hue to a blazing white.
Misuke still has yet to use it for the first time.
Weapon of Choice: None.
Chakra Affinity: Earth
Weaknesses: Similar to the sharingan, but less so due to the shinigan increasing movement speed and reaction time. Overuse of the shinigan.
Ninjutsu:
Clone Jutsu
Shadow Clone Jutsu
Substitution Jutsu - can use without hand signs due to extreme familiarity with th jutsu.
