44th Battle Training Zone - Forest of Death

[Rena Yasuno]

Landing deftly on the massive tree branch almost a hundred feet over the ground, Rena lowered her hand from her mouth as she surveyed the carnage in front of her. Nearly every branch less than 3 feet thick was gone for nearly 175 feet in front of her, most of them apparently torn off by what appeared to be brute force - a few, however, had been cleanly sliced from the parent trees. Letting out a deep breath, Rena walked to where the branch she was standing on met the trunk and sat with her back leaning against the tree as she untied the black cords that kept the ends of her sleeves from producing any drag.

Jysika hadn't been too far away when she heard the noise coming from the forest and thought she should come check it out. She moved from tree to tree and stopped suddenly when she saw the broken trees.

"Whoa," she whispered as her eyes took them all in. She spotted Rena and dropped down to where she would come up even with her.

"Hi Rena. Early training?" She asked.

[Rena Yasuno]

Rena simply nodded, her gaze still searching the carnage in front of her and picking out the areas that had been cut rather than torn or bent.

[Yuu Kobayashi]

Jysika rubbed the back of her head, "Right.. well. I was going to see if you needed anything. But I don't want to interupt you. If you ever need anyone to train with, I'd be happy to train with you. As long as you don't confuse me with a tree that is..." Jysika said, adding the last part on for the sake of humor.

[Rena Yasuno]

Rena nodded again, closing her eyes and resting her head against the back of the tree.
"You won't have to worry - as of right now it's still a failure, not even close to being any more useful than my other jutsu."

[Yuu Kobayashi]

"Whats your other jutsu? I'm guessing that you use wind.. that would explain the damage here very easily. Akemi uses wind and she's very talented with it. My specialty is earth, but I'm hoping to talk Nicholas-Sempai into teaching me to use fire sometime maybe. I'm guessing that he's one of the main reason's you and Misuke are here?" Jysika asked, picking up a conversation.

She waited a few minutes, looking over the trees again. "Well, I'd like to treat you and Misuke to lunch or something later if you're up to it. A sort of welcome to the village type of thing?" She offered.

[Rena Yasuno]

"I don't mean any offense, but I'd rather not say. I have few enough as it is, and the only reason I'm standing here right now is because I managed to surprise my last opponents by keeping a few secrets to myself. Maybe after I get to know you a bit, but not yet. As for the meal, we'll gladly take you up on that. We still haven't figured out where everything is in the village, so we're still a bit short on some essentials." Rena said, lithely standing up again with a single fluid motion. "I'm guessing your 'sempai' is the one with the shinigan? I keep hearing his name here and there, but so far I haven't been able to find out much about him beyond that he showed up here about five years ago."

[Yuu Kobayashi]

Jysika nodded, "Yeah I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. But if its a wind based jutsu then maybe when Akemi comes back, she could give you a few pointers. Or someone from back in Suna could help. Though.. you're very good, so you don't really need anything more than practice." She pushed her braid over her shoulder, and shifted her weight to another foot.

"Mhm, thats Nicholas. He's a really great guy and very skilled too. They should be back after they finish a mission that they're on. Anyway, so after dinner, I'll show you all around the village and help get the things you need. Okay?" Jysika asked, flashing a smile.

[Rena Yasuno]

"Thanks, and no offense taken. You know where we live, so meet there later this evening? Misuke's still at the academy, and I'm not quite finished here yet."

[Yuu Kobayashi]

Jysika nodded and with a wave of her hand, she was off. She decided that she would check out what was going on by her house before she met with Rena and Misuke again. Maybe walk around the village.

Breathing heavily, Rena knelt on one knee on the massive tree branch, leaning forward onto one hand. Glancing up once while trying to catch her breath, she surveyed the damage. While it still wasn't quite where it she wanted it to be, it was a hell of a lot better than it had been two days ago when Jysika had stopped by. While she was only modifying an existing jutsu similar to what she had done when she'd created razor hand, it was still not an easy task, and was taking much longer that she had hoped. It had improved, though - compared to the large, aimless swath of destruction she had created two days ago, it was now much more focused, this time punching twenty foot holes through the thick foliage and leaving nothing except mulch in the wake of the jutsu. It still had a long way to go, though - the jutsu quickly lost effectiveness, only leaving shallow cuts in the tree bark at more than thirty feet out. Taking a deep breath and letting it out, Rena got to her feet before turning around and launching herself from the tree branch, quickly moving towards one of the training zone's exits. As much as she disliked it, she'd take a break for the day - she had learned her lesson from the first day when she had almost overused her doujutsu, and she had no intention of inflicting that kind of pain on herself if she could avoid it.
