"ACHOOO!!" Shikamaru sneezed hard after a bug had crawled inside of his nose. After smacking his nose for a couple seconds, the bug finally crawled out, not mangled in the slightest. "Troublesome bugs..." He uttered as he laid back down on the glossy green grass. The wind was blowing slightly to the east, and the bright yellow sun was beating down on Shikamaru's face. He sneezed again, this time unprovoked, and that's when he sensed chakra approaching. "Are you kidding me??" That's when he noticed the chakra signature. Her? He thought, as he shot straight up out of his laying position.

"Being lazy again?" Temari asked, walking up to where Shikamaru had been laying.
She put her hand on her hip and gave her usual smirky smile, "Isn't there something else you should be doing?" She asked. She let her eyes take in all of Shikamaru, even noticing that his pants now had a slight green grass stain from where he had been laying.
"Being lazy again?" Shikamaru gave his usual neutral expression, and jumped up onto his feet. "You shouldn't be worrying about what I'm doing." His neutral expression had transformed into a slight smirk. While soaking in her general appearance, he had noticed something he hadn't before. "Hey." He made his hand flat horizontally at the top of his head, and moved it overtop of her head. "Shorty." He smirked wider to his own sly comment.

Temari narrowed her eyes a little while looking at Shikamaru's hand that was a little bit above her head.
"Its about time you grew taller." She said, attempting to put alittle more annoyance in her voice than what she actually felt. Her smirk grew alittle more as she looked around at the landscape.
"I'm suppose to go see the Hokage about the chuunin exams. Are you planning on sleeping the day away or do you actually have other plans?" She asked him. This time not meeting his eyes really.
"Its about time you grew taller." Shikamaru raised an eyeebrow at her retort, surprised by her lack of reaction. "I'm suppose to go see the Hokage about the chuunin exams. Are you planning on sleeping the day away or do you actually have other plans?" Shikamaru thought for moment, weighing his options on cloudwatching, or going with this troublesome woman. "You know, I really don't have anything to do. So, let's go." Then he thought, Wait, I almost forgot! He pulled a small box out of his rucksack, and swung it around infront of her. It's oftly light... He said to himself. Little did he know, he was handing Temari a empty box, of what would've been chestnuts.

Temari's smirk turned into a smile as she took the box from Shikamaru. She didn't think anything about the lightness of the box.
"For me?" She asked, and quickly opened it. She looked in it and raised her eyebrow as she looked back at Shikamaru. "You'll never get a girlfriend if you keep giving empty boxes to girls." She said.
She put the box back in Shikamaru's hand and put her hand back on her hip, "Not my idea of a welcome gift." She said, her eyes shining with laughter.
"You'll never get a girlfriend if you keep giving empty boxes to girls." Chouji. Shikamaru facepalmed himself, to avoid letting Temari see his blushing. After running back through the dialogue, he spoke, "So, you're trying to be my girlfriend?" Shikamaru regained his sly smirk, and put his left index finger on his chin. "And what is you idea of a welcome gift, woman?

"So, you're trying to be my girlfriend?" Shikamaru asked.
Temari fought the urge to blush, but could still feel her cheeks turning a very light pink. She tried to cover it with a soft sneer, "Of course not." She said. Noticing herself that it didn't sound too convincing.
"And what is you idea of a welcome gift, woman? Shikamaru had added.
Temari shook her head slightly, "Most guys would get a girl flowers or something." She said, then added, "Your loud annoying girlfriend works at the florist doesn't she? I'm surprised she didn't tell you that."
Of course she only added the last part as a tease, meaning Ino of course. She winked at him teasingly after saying it.
"Of course not." Of course, being Shikamaru he was completely oblivious to a girl's feelings about him, so he just lifted his shoulders an inch or two, and said, "Alright." "Most guys would get a girl flowers or something." Shikamaru again raised his eyebrow, but even higher. "Flowers? You don't seem like the kind of girl who would enjoy flowers." He snickered at the end of his statement. "Your loud annoying girlfriend works at the florist doesn't she? I'm surprised she didn't tell you that." Shikamaru frowned, highly notiecably. "Ino and Me? No." He shook his head slowly, imagining himself being Ino's significant other. Cringing, he came back to reality, and said, "So, are we gonna' head out, or are you just gonna' stand there, and wish those nuts were in that box?" He re-plastered the smirk on his face.

Temari smiled a wide smile after Shikamaru cringed at the thought of him and Ino. She didn't think she had to worry about the two of them, but she was glad for the assurance.
"Flowers? You don't seem like the kind of girl who would enjoy flowers." Shikamaru asked, surprised.
"Every girl likes flowers sometimes. I love plants, thank you very much." She stated. It was true, one of her favorite hobbies was taking care of plants and watching them grow. Sure it sounded like a boring hobby to some, but how often do you get to watch plants grow in the desert? Not very often.
So, ar ewe gonna' head out, or are you just gonna' stand there, and wish those nuts were in that box?" Shikamaru asked.
Temari's usual friendly smirk reappeared and she raised an eyebrow at Shikamaru, "What do you have in mind?" She asked, as she started to walk, waiting for him to join her.

Plants! Of course! Shikamaru facepalmed himself once more, before joining Temari in the walk. "What do you have in mind?" Shikamaru thought for a moment, and alas, his mind thought of nothing. Surprising, right? "Uh...You know, I'm not exactly sure. What did you have in mind? And please don't say something like cliff-diving, sprinting, or anything that threatens my life, and or exerts energy." He smiled, predicting that she was going to disobey his so called 'commands ' anyway.

Temari looked at him through the cornor of her eye and smirked, "So a little rematch wouldn't be acceptable at this time? The last one wasn't really that good." She said. It was true, they never really did have a good match, and Shikamaru interested her more than he'd ever probably know.
She sighed, and continued without letting him answer, "I suppose I could let you take me out to eat." She said and grinned. She bumped her elbow into his arm, it was an accident.. mostly, but the moment her elbow touched him, she felt heat rising to her face.
"So a little rematch wouldn't be acceptable at this time? The last one wasn't really that good." "Eh. Maybe tomorrow. I'm not in the fighting mood today." He grinned and nudged her arm lightly. "I suppose I could let you take me out to eat." Shikamaru let out a light chuckle. "So..you want me to take you out on a date?" That was when her arm touched his. It probably wasn't affectionate, but man, Shikamaru sure was affected by it. "Uh...yea." He said as he turned his head to his left away from her.

"So..you want me to take you out on a date?" Shikamaru asked, right as their arms touched.
Of course, Temari hadn't been able to answer for a few seconds. She also noticed that Shikamaru was now looking away from her. She raised her eyebrow slightly, wondering what he was thinking now.
"So, ramen then? The ramen here is much better than back at home. Maybe from all the extra spices." She said, feeling the need to fill the silence.
This woman. This loud, obnoxious, woman. How does she make me feel the way I do? There are so many other women. But this one....she's....special. I can't tell her that. No. She knock me into next week. You know, may- "So, ramen then? The ramen here is much better than back at home. Maybe from all the extra spices." Shikamaru whipped his head back around, saying "Tsk, tsk. Sandy Ramen." He shuttered and smiled, laughing a bit. He kicked up a couple rocks, and some dirt as he walked along the dirt path.
