Hana stood at the training grounds with her students. She remembered the first time she had met her sensei. She was so excited yet she had been even more shy then than she was now.
"Ah now then. I have a few questions to ask all of you and you can ask me some as well. First question. Why did you choose to become ninja?
Second question, what do you think is the most important part of being a ninja?" Hana asked them.

Emiko had spent the time that they walked to the training grounds examining the birds that were flying in the sky. As they sat down in the spot that Hana had stopped, Emiko spotted a beautiful flower off by a tree and picked it. It made her a little sad that the flower had grown there all by itself and she knew that it would be stepped on if it stayed there.
Flowers are so romantic. Emiko thought to herself. She heard Hana asking a question, and told herself that she needed to focus. She missed the beginning part of the question but heard the end of it.
Why did you choose to become a ninja? Emiko thought for a moment, Why had she decided to become a ninja?
There were a couple of thoughts that went through her head as an answer to this question. First, because it was what everyone expected of her, her grandmother had fortold of Emiko going into the academy before her parents had even brought it up to her. Second, there was something brave and even magical about honoring your village in such a way. Third, being a heroine to someone had a very romantic sound to it.
She was concentrating so much on the beginning question that she nearly missed the other one.
What is the most important part of being a ninja? Well that one was easy, help those who can't help themselves and of course loyalty.
She raised her hand for Hana to call on her. She smiled her dreamy smile and once Hana nodded for her to answer, she pulled her hand down and tilted her head slightly. She still hadn't quite decided which reason she'd give for wanting to be a kunoichi.
"The reason I wanted to become a ninja is because.... I want to be like my grandmother. She was a very amazing kunoichi. Hm, the second question...."Emiko thought once more, then continued, "The most important part of being a ninja is loyalty and a desire to help those who need it."

Kamiko smiled brightly at Emiko's answer. He really did think she was awsome. Then he realized it was his turn to answer. "Oh, I have become a shinobi to prove my worth to my villiage. To show that I can earn my keep!" Kamiko tightened his fists and continued. "And Emiko was right. Loyalty and goodwill are the absolute necessities of a ninja way!" Kamiko was confident that his answer was a good one.

Haruki listened carefully to what his partners had said, and put much thought to his answer. Why am I becoming a ninja? Is it too please my mother? To prove my worth and defeat my brother? To become a hero? This thought never left Haruki for one second since his arrival to Konoha. No it's non of those...
"I want to become a shinobi to protect those in need, but most of all protect those I care about..." Haruki began staring at the sky vaguely as if remembering the past. "I believe the most important facet of a ninja is to be loyal and have a desire to help those in need, but above all that a ninja should be able to sacrifice itself to save those who he cares about, even if it means dying in battle..." Haruki said not taking his eyes out of the sky. Soon after he looked back at his teacher and partners and smiled. "So what are we going to do?"

Hana listened intently to their answers. They all had good answers. Well there honestly wasn't a right answer anyway. It was just to see what their values and goals were. Also it was to see a few other things. Just two simple questions answered a lot about their selves.
Their reactions said alot about them too. Emiko may have been slightly ditzy though she did think about things alot. She had a thought out answer yet thought of it quickly. She would be a fast learner if she would concentrate it seemed.
Though Hana knew Emiko the best out of everyone. Kamiko and Haruki were both cuties it seemed. Though Hana may have been looking too far into it but Kamiko seemed to have a small crush on Emiko. Well that was cute but Hana would have to watch that and see Haruki's reaction. After all... Hana knew all too well what that situation could cause.
She could tell though that Kamiko may be the most loyal out of them all. His cheery personality seemed to bring Hana up a bit. She seemed a bit more confident now. Then there was Haruki.
He chewed his answer a bit longer then the other two it seemed. Or maybe it was just that he had more internal battles then the others. He seemed to have a painful past already. Which meant Haruki was both strong and sensitive from what Hana could tell. From his words and the emotion in his eyes that's what it seemed.
Hana smiled and replied to Haruki's question. "Well if you have any questions about myself feel free to ask. I asked these questions to get to know you. The questions don't have to be deep like the ones I asked. They could be as simple as "What is your favorite color?" Or they could be about my own goals or aspirations. The questions may even be why I became a ninja as well or about how I became a genin like yourselves," Hana offered.

"Did you want to become a squad leader? I mean, I think you'll be great at it, and I remember Grandma saying that you were going to excel, but sometimes life throws unexpected journeys at us." Emiko asked, she had heard her mother say that many times, and she knew it was true.

Hana shook her head. "Well, there is a lot of responsibility with becoming a squad leader. Not only is it your life on the line but your teammates' as well. I thought I was ready to become a leader on my last mission but it honestly didn't go well. I didn't really want to become a leader of a squad so soon. But now that I have you guys I can't really say no," she said with a smile. "Though I'm not going to fail. I have more faith in myself and your grandmother's prediction."

"Why did you decide to become a ninja?" Emiko asked, crossing her legs and resting her elbow on her leg, and her chin in her hand. She was still holding the flower in the other, and spinning it around between her fingers.

Hana scratched the back of her head. "Well to tell you the truth the only reason why I first thought of it was because there was a girl that I always wanted to be better than in my village. Being a ninja ran in her family and I wanted to show her that people from normal families could be ninja too. So... I joined the academy. But after that I took some serious thought to being a ninja. I wanted to protect people that I cared about and I wanted to be strong enough to protect myself too. Over the years I've begun to have more and more reasons," Hana told them.

Kamiko was really happy that his sensei seemed so noble. "Umm... Now that you're our squad leader, what are your aspirations? You're successful and a leader, what could you want more than that?"
Post by Hana Kuroda on Jan 5, 2011 23:37:12 GMT -5
Hana thought for a moment. "Well I wouldn't say successful but as for my aspirations... well just training you guys and helping you to become the best you can be as ninja's is fine with me for now," she said with a smile. "Though as for the future... well settling down and starting a family with someone special... would be nice..." she said blushing slightly thinking of a certain someone.

Haruki smirked when he had figured out she was thinking about somebody, Haruki being one to tease people went right into action. 'Sensei that is so cute.. I never thought you were the romantic type,' Haruki said with a grin in his face. 'I have question... Do you know why we were assign to you?' Haruki asked he had been distracted during the graduation ceremony.

Hana blushed slightly. How a young boy of around thirteen years old could make an adult woman still blush was beyond her. In that aspect of an adult she failed. She cleared her throat and said, "Ahem, I don't quite know the reason myself Haruki. I asked Tsunade myself but she didn't give me a good enough answer..." she trailed off trying to get her face to stop blushing by thinking of cold baths and those icky pug dogs.

Emiko had sighed in her dreamy way when Hana had mentioned her hopes for the future regarding a family. She could just picture her new sensei with a husband, maybe Iruka Sensei? She could tell that Hana had a crush on her Academy Teacher, and thought it was the most adorable thing.
She blinked, forcing herself to pay attention once more to what her Sensei was saying, when she heard Tsunade's name and how Hana had asked Tsunade why she had made a decision, Emiko was impressed.
"Wow Sensei, if you questioned Lady Hokage, then you are very brave! She's almost as scary as Grandma Daishi is!" Emiko declared.
Hana smiled and scratched the back of her head awkwardly. "Heheh, it wasn't much. Sure she can be scary but I really wanted to find out why she had picked me. Even though I only succeeded in making her mad. But Grandma Daishi is much scarier," Hana said laughing lightly.
